Quality recovery time.

For the last half year or so I've been going to the gym religiously. 4 times a week with breaks on humpday and weekends. No fail. My 4 days on is just right I think. I recover over the breaks just in time, and come Monday, I'm ready to hit the weights and start the torture all over again. But this Monday was just absolutely rough.

This week after my regular Friday workout, I skipped dinner and in the evening I had the "beer diet" in the middle of Shinjuku till last train. Saturday I woke up early to do lessons then I had a light breakfast and a good sized late lunch. At night I did a "beer and tequila diet" for dinner at Lin's going away party in Roppongi till 2AM. And then Sunday after waking up early for lessons again, I had a McD's breakfast and then went for 4 hours of tennis and a giant yakiniku dinner.

Grow the muscle, Feed the muscle, Rest the muscle.

Obviously the 2 alcohol fueled nights and sporadic meals didn't provide enough nutrients over the weekend. The tennis and early morning lessons didn't give me the rest I needed either.

And so today I feel like I've been hit by a truck. Muscles that I worked out 3 days ago are still in pain. I'm usually raring to go to the gym by Sunday evening. But today, no amount of Jack3d pre-workout mix is going to get me going. I need a bed. And bad.
